Dubai to Istanbul

Istanbul sits at the meeting point of Europe and Asia, which makes it one of the more interesting short-haul trips from Dubai — a direct flight typically runs in the range of 4-5 hours, putting it within easy reach for a long weekend or a full week.

Best Time to Visit

Spring (April–May) and early autumn (September–October) tend to offer the most comfortable weather for walking the city — mild temperatures without the summer crowds or winter chill. Ramadan and major public holidays can affect opening hours at some sites, so it's worth checking the calendar before you book.

Getting Around

Istanbul Airport (IST) connects to the city center via metro and shuttle services. Many travelers also use the tram network once in the old city, since much of Sultanahmet's historic core is walkable once you arrive.

Quick Tips

• A Turkey e-Visa (if required for your nationality) is usually processed online in advance — check requirements before departure
• The historic peninsula (Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia area) is compact and best explored on foot
• Turkish Lira is the local currency; many places also accept cards
